All the fun of the fair
Long Eaton’s Chestnut Fair celebrates its 25th anniversary this month when traditional rides and stalls take over the town centre.
This year’s event takes place between Thursday 21 November and Saturday 23 November and will be given its usual official opening by the Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Sue Beardsley, at 6pm on the Thursday at the dodgems ride on Waverley Street.
The fair will once again feature rides for all ages, from the traditional carousels through to the white knuckle rides for daredevil fair-goers. Rides and stalls stretch out from Waverley Street and along the High Street through to the Market Place.
Councillor Sue Beardsley, the Mayor of Erewash, says:
“I look forward to opening the Chestnut Fair, it is a firm family favourite offering something for everyone so wrap up warm and enjoy this colourful street fair.”
The fair is open from 6pm-10pm on Thursday and Friday and 1pm-10pm on Saturday. Motorists should note there will be some disruption with Waverley Street closed to traffic and Cross Street, Union Street and the Market Place also affected.
